Rania Refaat’s journey with writing began as a journalist for a Cairo-based newspaper, where her love for the written word took root. She soon ventured into the world of children’s literature, publishing her first book, The Tales Carpet, a collection of enchanting stories brimming with imagination and innocence.

Her talent for playwriting was discovered by chance when she needed a script to perform in a theater competition, where she won first prize as an actress. Since then, Rania has written over 15 plays, encompassing human theater, puppet theater, and mime. Her theatrical book, Maisahesh keda!, was translated into English, what a shame! and German, Schade! with the support of Berlin’s Senate, further extending her creative reach.

Throughout her career, Rania has penned thought-provoking articles in Egypt and Germany and held book signings in both countries. She has also shared her passion for storytelling through writing workshops, bridging cultures and inspiring others with her words and creativity.
