“Who can I turn to?” – A Journey of Puppetry, Identity, and Social Change
In a world where voices often go unheard,
“Who can I turn to?” emerges as a powerful theatrical project that blends puppetry, storytelling, and social engagement. This unique collaboration between the El-Pergola Puppet Theatre and the Via Foundation in Berlin brings together a group of Syrian refugees, training them in the intricate arts of puppet manipulation, scriptwriting, and performance.
Developed in collaboration with the director Rania Refaat, the play fearlessly tackles the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and the painful rejection faced by those affected. Through a dynamic and interactive performance, the audience is not just a spectator but a key participant, encouraged to engage, reflect, and explore potential solutions to this urgent issue.

“Who can I turn to?” is more than a performance—it is a call for awareness, empathy, and action, proving that theater can be a powerful tool for change, giving a voice to those who need it most.
